Conditions and Services Outside Our Scope of Care

While Vitality Health and Wellness is dedicated to providing high-quality psychiatric care, there are certain conditions and clinical needs that require a higher level of specialized care or a multi-disciplinary team approach. To ensure patient safety and the most effective treatment, the following services and conditions are outside our current scope of care.

Psychiatric Emergencies

• Current suicidal intent or an immediate risk of self-harm
• Homicidal intent or an immediate risk of harm to others
• Severe psychiatric symptoms requiring emergency stabilization
• Acute psychosis requiring immediate intervention
• Severe mania requiring hospitalization
• Other situations involving an immediate safety concern

Inpatient or Higher Level of Care

• Conditions requiring psychiatric hospitalization
• Partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment when those services are clinically indicated
• Individuals who require 24-hour psychiatric monitoring or supervision
• Acute psychiatric decompensation that cannot be safely managed in an outpatient setting

Severe or Unstable Substance Use

• Acute intoxication or withdrawal requiring medical monitoring
• Substance-use conditions requiring medically supervised detoxification
• Substance-use disorders requiring residential or inpatient treatment
• Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (such as suboxone or methadone)

Specialized Evaluations and Treatment Needs

We prioritize clinical care and medication management for your lasting health. As an outpatient provider, we do not perform forensic, custody, or disability evaluations, nor do we handle court-ordered reviews. Cases requiring acute medical stabilization or highly specialized interventions fall outside the scope of our primary psychiatric practice.

Your Safety Comes First

At Vitality Health and Wellness, your safety and well-being are our non-negotiable priorities. If we determine that outpatient treatment is not the safest or most appropriate level of care, we will discuss available options and make appropriate recommendations or referrals whenever possible.

If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

An initial evaluation is required to determine whether Vitality Health and Wellness is an appropriate setting for your care. The conditions and services listed above are general guidelines and do not replace an individualized clinical assessment.
